Research: Animal bioscience The Animal Bioscience Program addresses genetics, genomics, epidemiology and diagnostics of important livestock species (cattle, pigs, camel, sheep, and goats), some specific diseases (Trypanosomiasis, East Coast Fever, African swine fever, Peste de Petits Ruminant) and some categories of disease particularly Zoonotic diseases and emerging infectious diseases. Animal science for sustainable productivity Th Animal Science for Sustainable Productivity program conducts research on animal feeding, breeding and health to increase livestock productivity to increase the supply of meat and milk and to increase the income of small holder livestock farmers.
